05. - 08.11.'10: 4 days in Bergen

From Friday til Monday I spent 4 wonderful days in Bergen together with Anna (and Pedro, a nice guy from Portugal who joined us to visit our shared friend Vera). Compared to what I have heard about the weather in Bergen, I think we were rather lucky - although we had some of every weather conditions: Sun, rain, snow and strong wind.
I stayed with Anna at Raquel's - a great Spanish girl from my summer language course - at Fantoft for the three nights and we were really looked after well there. Thanks again for your kindness, Raquel!

We bought the Bergen Pass and visited loads of museums, sights and the botanical garden, spent some interesting hours at the Aquarium (where you can also touch many animals), went up Mount Fløyen with a funicular and saw many different sights like the stave church. On Saturday evening we also went to a fantastic concert at Garage where we saw the Norwegian bands Cockroach Agenda (a band of talented 14- and 15-yr-olds that rocked the stage like professionals), Jarle H. Olsen Prosjekt (a cracking instrumental Progressive Metal band), Troll (a Black Metal Band) and Breed (a Groove Metal band - absolutely great!) and had a smashing evening!

On Sunday at midnight Anna and me snook out to take a look at the stave church at night, and tried to write things with the light of her mobile phone. On Monday we tried to have a more relaxing day after the last three days of running all around the city, and we were happy to rest our feet in a café, where we said our farewells to Raquel and Vera. I absolutely enjoyed these 4 days in Bergen and can only recommend visiting this city; it is beautiful!

Meanwhile it had snowed a lot in Trondheim again, turning the city into a winter wonderland. Here are two photos which might give you a picture of how nice everything looks here now. :) I took them on Tuesday at noon and in the early afternoon, respectively.

Finally, not wanting to make an own blog entry just for a few pictures, here are three photos of our last PBL-dinner together with my course group on Nov 2nd. I wanted my friends to taste some traditional Autrian food, so I cooked them some Wienerschnitzel with potato salad, served a bottle of Austrian red wine and made some Kaiserschmarren for dessert. I think it was very successful, and the evening was of course very nice again. Det var en kjempekoselig kveld - takk skal dere ha! :)
