2 very different evenings at Samfundet

1st evening - 09.10.'10: Pirum og Samfundets Symfoni Orchester

In the course of the 100th jubilee of the NTNU, the student mens' choir "Pirum" made a musical about the history of the student's society of Trondheim and performed it together with the students' symphony orchestra. I was invited by Tore, one of my fellow students who also sings in the choir, and was accompanied by Anna, who is always fun to hang around with. This being a rather festive occasion, we had to dress up nicely - with tie and all - and finally I was happy about bringing my nice clothes with me to Norway. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance and had a very entertaining evening there!

2nd evening - 18.10.'10: Volbeat, Entombed and The Kandidate

Only a few weeks after I arrived in Trondheim, I spotted a poster proclaiming Volbeat (also one of my favourite bands) stopping in Trondheim on their tour promoting their new album "Beyond Hell/Above Heaven". I bought a ticket quite soon and was happy about it as the concert was sold out a few weeks before the actual date! They were supported by the Danish metal band "The Kandidate" and the Swedish death 'n' roll band "Entombed", which has been performing for over 20 years now. Again I had an cracking evening - great performance of the bands, worth every penny and worth the pain in the neck from hanging my head to the powerful music!
