PBL-dinner, music and beautiful colours

28.09.: Alex from my PBL-course group invited the whole group over to his place for dinner. We met at the local supermarket to go shopping together, and then the Norwegians decided to cook something Norwegian for me and Kristina to taste. It tasted delicious! In return, I shall cook something Austrian for them next time. At least I could contribute to that meal with some Schnaps. Unfortunately, two of the girls weren't able to come, but we still had a lot of fun and I hope we're going to repeat it soon!

02.10.: The Norwegian mineral oil company "det norske oljeselskap" has opened a new branch office in Trondheim and therefore organised a big free family concert at Torget, the main market place on Saturday evening. I met with Robert and his girlfriend - who had come to visit him for his birthday - at Studentersamfundet for a cup of coffee first and then watched the concert together with them. The first bands played music for children, but were quite entertaining nevertheless; and the highlight of the evening were the Norwegian band "Kaizers Orchestra", an alternative/experimental rock band which is apparently considered one of Europe's best live acts! I absolutely enjoyed their performance - it was really something else! Here and here are two samples. After the concert there was a nice firework display, at which Kathi joined us and finally we ended up in Café 3B - my favourite bar - again.

04.10.: Although it was very windy and cloudy, I had a strong urge to go out on a walk around Trondheim in the late afternoon and take some pictures of the beautiful autumn colours appearing everywhere. I think I was strolling around for 2 1/2 hours; it was already getting dark when I came home. The first picture was taken during breakfast at dawn. Again I must say that I am living in a beautiful part of the world. :-)
